A few days ago, while I was deep in my sewing room clean up, a friend on Facebook posted her status as “Day 4 of Occupy Sewing Room.” As it happens, we both labor at the same time with the same goal in mind. Somehow, it is comforting to knowing that I am not the only one unable to sew because of this necessary maintenance.
At any rate, I keep coming up with more duplicates of books and patterns that I liked so much that they were purchased twice. I’ve also unearthed some long-lost and/or forgotten treasures. They are being posted for sale before I lose my resolve. Already I’m tempted to and pack them away in that overflowing old steamer trunk labeled “WORK ON THESE NEXT” projects. I am a weak woman.
So for now, they are available. It’s the same drill. Post your shopping list as a comment or drop me an e-mail at NCcabin@aol.com. I will get back to you with a total, then you pay (check, money order or Paypal) and I ship. Simple enough? Just let me know if you have any questions. I am real “customer support,” not “Peggy” as seen in those entertaining ads on tv.

After taking a class from Jenny Haskins at Martha Pullen’s Orlando Market many years ago, I fully intended to make up one of her gorgeous quilts. I bought several of these silks at her booth and a few more at Susan York’s. Actually none are really silk. Some are on satin and others are on a silky fabric.
How sweet is this?

I used these designs on my quilted Wisteria Lesson piece. My mother purchased this set but never got around to making up the Wisteria Lesson project. The package is unopened.

I love everything that Nancy Coburn publishes. I’ve used the first copy of this book again and again. The design suggestions are excellent, making it easy to make many variations of the back closing daygown. After one project, I misplaced the book, finally bought another and promptly found the original. Does that happen to you? So this one has not been used. The pattern is enclosed, uncut.

I liked this great issue so much that I couldn’t wait for it to arrive in my post office box. So I bought it at JoAnn’s. Then it showed up in my mail.

Apparently, my zip code is one of the last to which Sew Beautiful is shipped.  I was impatient and bought this Nancy Grace issue at the local book store–the day before my subscription issue arrived.

This gorgeous book has spectacular garments featuring shadow work designs and even a Bunnykins smocking plate. Printed in 1990, it is highly sought after and currently only available, as near as I could tell, at Amazon, used for $149. Of course, it has not SOLD at that price which is why I am asking just $18, less than the original purchase price! This is a gorgeous book that has continued to be in great demand long after it was out of print and unavailable at stores.

This is an absolute gold mine of patterns, techniques, inspiration and how-to for those who sew for children. It has been unavailable for many years and is almost impossible to purchase at any price.
