This is another dress made from the Children’s Corner pattern, “Frannie. “ Summery, Mary Englebreit-look-alike roses are scattered on cotton pique.
The collar is a coordinating solid fuschia pique, trimmed with lime green and white whipstitch piping. The armscyes have the same piping inserted between the floral pique and the lining.
Whipstitch piping comes in so many colors and is the perfect accent on this and so many other garments. It’s  available from one of my favorite mail order sources, Farmhouse Fabrics.  I love that site. They have everything you need and everything you want but don’t need.   And the service is great. As with the schoolhouse  Frannie I made for Laurel, only the bodice is lined on this dress. But unlike that other Frannie, the hem is not faced but just turned up with a  shirt tail hem then top stitched. On this fabric, it was just right.
One thing about having quick and easy, tried and true patterns like Frannie at my fingertips is that I can make sweet every day clothes for Laurel. Here she is hanging out at home, playing with the dollhouse Bob and I made for her birthday. This Frannie is just a play dress.
